Job Description
Model
Intensivist services are provided in-house 24 hrs/day using a shift staffing model.  Coverage is provided by 4- full time Intensivists who work a combination of rotating day and night shifts.  Critical Care Nurse Practitioners provide support during the day shifts.

Facilities
The Hospital is a JCAHO-accredited, 248-bed regional referral hospital.  The Emergency Department occupies an all-new (completed 2004) 48-bed facility and handles about 60,000 annual visits.  The ICU is an 18-bed medical surgical unit.

Location
Frederick, MD is in ex-urban Washington, DC, within half an hour of the beltway and 1 hour of downtown.  It combines sophisticated in-town dining with charming country scenery.  It is nestled between the Shenandoah Valley and Catoctin Mountain recreation areas in an area ripe with historic towns and Civil War battlefields.  Dulles International Airport, Georgetown University, and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD are all less than 1 hour away.  The median home price is $336,000.

Compensation
The Staff Intensivist will be an employee of Critical Care Associates.  Benefits include malpractice insurance, reimbursable CME, and relocation allowance.  The salary is nationally competitive and includes an end-of-year incentive bonus.  Partnership opportunities are available.
